Ideally, it would, but greed and a lack of emotional intelligence from world leaders, as well as the lack of thought for the people most effected by war, will have war a reoccurring event probably for as long as we exist as a species.

I agree, unfortunately due to the nature of single leader democratic parties as well as lack of globalisation, its unfortunately likely that we will continue to exist separately in society which will lead to conflict and eventually war. I hope that we are able to move past this but doubt it will happen in any currently foreseeable future.
