Sounds like more empty promises to me; we've heard it all before, and it's independence we need, not more of the same dressed up as change.

Finally, someone's taking the Scots' call for change seriously; Starmer's approach could really bridge the gap between the independence movement and a stronger, united UK.

The simplicity doesn’t detract from the depth of the game, Merge Fruit as it offers plenty of challenges for those looking to master the art of matching.

It's refreshing to see Starmer finally recognizing the deep-seated issues and aspirations in Scotland, showing a Labour leader who's willing to listen and act rather than just make empty promises.

Let us not forget that at the time of the referendum 62% of the people of Scotland voted remain. And Brexit is even less popular there now. Setting up some special arrangement for companies in Scotland to trade in Europe and allowing access to Scottish people to work in EU countries would make sense. But, of course, Starmer and the Labour Party are as obsessed with maintaining the Brexit nonsense and all its flaws as the dreadful Tories were.

Starmer's talk of change in Scotland is just another empty promise from a politician who doesn't truly understand or respect the values of those who want real sovereignty and independence. It's clear he's just trying to pacify the Scots without offering any substantial solutions that would actually respect their right to self-determination. The Labour Party's track record hardly inspires confidence that they'll deliver anything but more of the same failed policies that ignore the voices of the far-right and anyone else who genuinely wants to see a stronger, more independent Scotland.

Do you believe promises for change from politicians are genuine or strategic ploys to gain support?

 @ISIDEWITHasked…3mos3MO

If you were in Scotland, would the promise of 'significant change' by a political party influence your stance on independence? Why or why not?

 @ISIDEWITHasked…3mos3MO

How important do you think it is for political leaders to recognize and address the reasons behind movements like Scottish independence?

'A heavy duty': Sir Keir Starmer reflects on 10 years since the Scottish independence referendum

https://scotsman.com

Sir Keir Starmer has said there is a "heavy duty" on his Labour government to deliver the change promised to Scotland as he reflected on the tenth anniversary of the independence referendum. The Prime Minister said he had “long understood” why so many people in Scotland wanted change.
