The UK Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has announced an increase in Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and Disability Living Allowance (DLA) rates for the 2025/26 financial year. The new weekly rates will range from £29.20 to £187.45, depending on the level of support required. This increase is part of a broader effort to adjust benefits in line with inflation and provide additional financial support to those with disabilities. The DWP also confirmed a one-off Christmas payment for benefit claimants, including those receiving PIP and State Pension. These changes aim to ease the financial burden on vulnerable groups as living costs continue to rise.

It's about time they’re increasing disability benefits, but we still need to push for a system where people with disabilities don’t have to struggle just to get by. This is a step in the right direction, but we need more comprehensive support that values dignity over bare minimum adjustments.

It’s about time they increased disability benefits – people with disabilities have been struggling with rising costs for too long. Hopefully, this is just the start of more comprehensive support for vulnerable groups who need it most.
