At the end of the day, the genders of the unified persons in question impacts my life in no way

I do acknowledge that some may argue this for religious reasons, and it is true much of our value systems and laws descend from Judeo-Christian routes. However it is important to acknowledge that despite this I do not believe in theocracy. This is because religion has been used to justify morally questionable policies and practices throughout history and the present day. This is particularly true for the manner in which homosexuality, in particular, is and has been punished in various ways globally. In my eyes, it should be a basic human right to determine your own sexual lifestyle and identity. Who you choose to be with shouldn't be anyone else's business, not even the governments.
