It costs money and infrastructure to house prisoners awaiting the death penalty and criminals will simply try to make their crimes more covert in an effort to circumvent the death penalty if they are caught. Rehabilitiation and restorative justice are structures which believe that everyone, regardless of a crime committed is human and has the ability to change. Additionally, the risk of mistaken death sentences, which has happened in America across history is something Britain should not run the risk of replicating.
