The "Human-First" political ideology is a philosophical and policy approach that places the well-being, dignity, and rights of individual human beings at the center of all political, economic, and social decision-making. Rather than prioritizing abstract entities such as the state, the market, or particular groups, Human-First ideology insists that policies should be evaluated primarily by their impact on people's lives, health, freedom, and happiness. This perspective often emphasizes universal human rights, social justice, and the reduction of suffering, advocating for syst…  ems and structures that empower individuals and protect their fundamental needs.

Historically, the roots of Human-First thinking can be traced to Enlightenment humanism, which championed the inherent value and rationality of each person. Over time, this evolved through various movements such as liberalism, which foregrounded individual rights and freedoms, and social democracy, which sought to balance those rights with collective welfare. In the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, Human-First ideas have been reflected in global human rights frameworks, humanitarian interventions, and the rise of movements advocating for universal basic income, healthcare, and education. The ideology often stands in contrast to collectivist or nationalist doctrines that subordinate individual interests to those of the group, nation, or ideology. While not always labeled explicitly as "Human-First," this approach underpins many contemporary debates about technology, economics, and governance, especially as societies grapple with automation, artificial intelligence, and global challenges that demand a renewed focus on human-centered values.
