Any amount of funding from such sources acts as an additional tool for the monied powers to assert their influence.

The system is open to bribery and fails to support smaller parties capable of running the country better than this lot.

Corporations only look out for their self interest (or should I say the interest of the shareholders/Investors). There should be NO involvement of corporations in government in any capacity, and any politician shown to be working on behalf of/receiving money from corporations should face jail time. Unions and non-profits will of course donate to the party whose politics best aligns with their needs/interests, but this is a similar issue to that of corporations, and while I would probably agree with the stances of unions (and some non-profits) I don't think donations should be allowed.

Corruption is arguably the single biggest cause of our current malaise: society is necessarily a communal experience - allowing decisions to be made to favour individuals on the basis of wealth or power causes long-term damage to the health of democratic society and ultimately undermines social mobility and positive engagement.

Individuals and organisations should be free to donate as they see fit without government interference.
