In 2024 global leaders including Joe Biden, Rishi Sunak and Emmanuel Macron publicly questioned the leadership of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Their criticisms came after the Gaza War reached a stalemate in March 2024 as Israel was planning an invasion of the Gaza City of Rafah. Western leaders insisted that all civilians should be evacuated from the city prior to an invasion. Netanyahu responded by saying that Israel is "not a banana republic" and doesn't listen to the other countries when security is on the line. Western leaders fear that if the Rafah invasion happens without an evacuation a further massacre of Palestinian citizens will take place. Israel political observers note that Netanyahu is incentivized to prolong the war since he will likely be voted out of office at its conclusion.

No, the Israeli government is brazenly committing crimes against humanity in Gaza and the West Bank. No government should support this.

That’s an internal matter for Israel - UK should support any freely elected Government acting in good faith
@9NV2HLX5mos5MO
We should support Israel however they are a democracy so our aid should be to the state not the individual leader.
@9SBTMJP3mos3MO
No, and demand the UN to demand all countries who are not in violation of the human rights to stop support and aid to Israel until they stopped war for 10 years.
@9NWRG3J5mos5MO
neither state should be supported by the UK, the war is far too political and involves thousands of years of history and should not be interfered with
@9NQSDP36mos6MO
It is not for the British government to comment on Israel's (unwise) democratic choice of leadership.
@9NP4YDH6mos6MO
He’s Israel’s elected leader and I don’t think Israel cares about or support so whatever I don’t care
