Only if the home owners situation is dire to the point where they cannot afford any housing. If someone who earns for example, 300,000 a year is going to lose their home, then no, but if someone is on severe benefits and risks losing everything, then yes, they should be assisted,

in certain circumstances, yes - provided there are appropriate thresholds in place. if a homeowner is at risk of losing a house where they have the means and opportunity to downsize or relocate then the government should not assist them.

People who have gambled upon expensive properties which they could have never afforded in the first place deserve no sympathy. People in the mainstream and the lower end of the economy should be offered support so that they do not become homeless.
