This considers the idea of removing government-imposed traffic laws and relying instead on individual responsibility for road safety. Proponents argue that voluntary compliance respects individual freedom and personal responsibility. Opponents argue that without traffic laws, road safety would significantly decline and accidents would increase.

Take away the unnecessary traffic laws such as the new 20mph roads as this is more likely to cause accidents. As well as parking situations if it’s safe to park you should be allowed to. However maintain the important traffic laws such as national speed limit etc.
@9P8JWMS8mos8MO
Stop manufacturing / allowing for vehicles that can exceed 70 mph / better speed limiting technology that doesn't allow users to exceed speed limits.
@9P6V2KM8mos8MO
No, but traffic violations should not purely exist to generate revenue. Speeding outside a school bad. Speeding on a NSL moor road, fine.

Yes, the traffic laws aren't working to the best of their ability. The amount of road users there are and with the idiocy and laziness of the general public, we should get rid of the traffic laws and leave it to natural selection.

On specific roads this should be a policy, however on other roads there should still be traffic laws
@B2L782T3wks3W
No, but make it a non-criminal offence to violate traffic laws. Roads and vehicles should instead be redesigned in a way such that it becomes difficult to violate traffic laws in dangerous ways.
@9QMY2XS8mos8MO
no but speed limits should be raised and legalise not wearing a seatbelt and using a mobile phone whilst driving.

Used to be more based on common sense. Get drivers to read the Police - Roadcraft manual and be tested on it - not the 'Highway Code'.
