I think digital wallets are an interesting idea but the amount of cybercrimes being committed for them is certainly worrying, so i feel sorta in the middle with this one.

Yes, but the government should not be able to monitor it. They cannot view my regular wallet so why can they view my electronic one

Yes as long as the government can see it and take the person to court if they suspect something etc.
