It depends on the nature of the crime, context, how long ago, and behaviour between finishing the sentence and running for office

Should foreigners, currently residing in the United States, have the right to vote?
Yes, if they are resident they should be able to vote in local elections. After 2 full years of residency they should be allowed to vote in national elections.

Should the House of Lords be abolished?
No, but religious and hereditary peerships should be abolished. Members should be appointees of the House of Commons. Service should have a finite (long) term…
