It is not the responsibility of government to dictate the gender of corporate board members. This form of power would allow government to pick and choose which companies it prefers to the determent of those it does not.
The best person for the job should always be chosen. Surely it is sexist for someone to be given a job based on their gender and not on merit? Statistics are not needed when it comes to employing the best person for the job.
