LGBT adoption is the adoption of children by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) persons. Same-sex couples in the United Kingdom (not including Scotland) have had the right to adopt since 2002, following the Adoption and Children Act 2002.The previous condition that the couple be married was dropped, thus allowing a same-sex couple to apply. Opponents of LGBT adoption question whether same-sex couples have the ability to be adequate parents while other opponents question whether natural law implies that children of adoption possess a natural right to be raised by heterosexual parents. Since constitutions and statutes usually fail to address the adoption rights of LGBT persons, judicial decisions often determine whether they can serve as parents either individually or as couples.

I believe 100% that YES, THEY SHOULD and out dated, expired human beings that grew up in a completely different time shouldn't have a say on this. Old, straight, homophobic human ish being shouldn't have the right to say whether or not a gay couple is qualified to have children.

Children should have a choice of who they will be adopted by and any person adopting should pass the strictest mental wellbeing tests to ensure child safety.

Lesbian couples should have the same rights as straight couples. As men commit 98% of sexual offences gay male couples should be more thoroughly checked and monitored

This is a tough question. I am all for same sex marriage etc but I think a child would have no control over how they are perceived by other people / children and could result in bullying etc.

Yes, we need more parents for all the children waiting to be adopted. But there is psychological research to suggest heterosexual parents are 'better' for children but I cannot say that is conclusively true and either way, better 2 gay parents than no parents.

Gay couples should be able to adopt children like any sexual preference. But Male and Female parents will raise more successful children.
@8T84QPN4yrs4Y
yes but they cannot force anything on to the child it should be able to choose what it wants
@8SWTSYQ4yrs4Y
Only if the parents allow them to be adopted or not yet ready to adopt, the child can go to a gay couples if needs be.

Lots of considerations needed not just sexuality, but backgrounds and potential discrimination of child

Yes, providing it can be demonstrated that the child is likely to have a similar out-of-home experience (for example at school) as they would if they were to have straight parents.

No. I believe a mother father structure is best for the child therfore adoption agencies should prioritize offering to straight couples over gay couples although they should still offer to gay couples
All potential parents should be required to attend a course on child development and the roles needed in a child's life regardless of their sexual orientation.
