The UK does not have sufficient infrastructure or resources in place or social cohesion to allow increased immigration

 @9FFVRR8Liberal Democratagreed…3yrs3Y

I think a small amount of immigration is good for the UK economy but huge numbers will be bad for the country.

 @9FDYCJCagreed…3yrs3Y

Agreed. Our doctors, dentists and schools can’t meet the needs of people born here. More and more houses are being built without infrastructure in place which is already negatively effecting people without the added demands of immigrants on a broken system.

 @AlexJ137 disagreed…3yrs3Y

Then that is the fault of the UK government. Ways must be found to ensure that these immigrants can come to the UK, whether as refugees or skilled workers, to benefit national industry and boost our apparently failing infrastructure. Also the people must be educated to ensure greater social cohesion. Neither of these two points are the fault of the immigrants so should not prevent them from entering this country.

 @9FBY8Y7Labourdisagreed…3yrs3Y

We should Ban illegal imigrants from being allowed in this country to protect our economy and to protect the NHS from being abused from non Britons

 @9FC5JFFLabourdisagreed…3yrs3Y

Let me begin by saying I can understand your point of view and your frustration with what is a broken immigration system. But let me ask you a question, weren't we all immigrants at one point? The first humans came from Ethiopia and if you trace your ancestry back far enough I'm sure you will find many different nationalities in your bloodline. Secondly, let me give you a scenario, you are a 21 year old single mother of 3 who recently had your house blown up by ISIS and watched on helpless while your husband was shot dead in front of your infant children. You have no access to the…  Read more

I believe that our country needs to be in a better financial position for its own citizens’ rights to health and social care before we are obliged to help refugees. Helping refugees is important - we would want the same help should we suffer the way they have - but I believe we should be in a good position to be able to offer help. Only when our own citizens are adequately housed, educated and looked after health wise should we then look to help others.

 @9F9SLG4disagreed…3yrs3Y

We need to stop illegal immigrants breaking into our country by encouraging them not to come in the first place as this affects the ability of true refugees being processed and treated fairly and properly.

 @9G7LCVFagreed…3yrs3Y

I am mostly uneducated on the topic, but
If war raged here, it is certain death to stay and probable death to go to another country, you get there - surpassing all odds - and then you are sent back, or not allowed what is needed to live (education, income, housing) how is that fair?

 @9FXXTSKagreed…3yrs3Y

For some people there is literally no legal way they could immigrate here. We are wasting time, money and energy trying to keep them out. They are going to come here whether legal or not. Currently they are considered criminals upon arrival just for being an illegal immigrant, but their “crime” is just trying to escape a bad situation.

 @BB6DSVHagreed…4mos4MO

By making it easier for refugees to enter the UK we are reducing the amount of illegal boats into the country. This reduces the chances of people with criminal records to come in as we would be able to fact check each person and know when they entered into our country. It would also help with this racist propaganda everyone keeps talking about as it would help these people to feel more safely protected as they know that rhese people have had checks done on themselves. Refugees normally also have to live under poor conditions until the find refuge meaning that they are more likely to be in danger and physically or mentally pained when entering into safe country’s especially if their country is going through war or conflict. By being able to help them get in easier it would reduce mental and physical impacts.

 @B9S98Y3Labourfrom Maryland  agreed…5mos5MO

Refugees should never have to struggle to escape tyrannical governments, war zones, etc. especially given the imperialist history that potentially caused current strife in some places.

 @B9Q879Pagreed…5mos5MO

Refugees are coming here from war torn countries often with young children and don’t have any support in their own country. Such as Palestine, Sudan and Iran

 @B9PVM4Xagreed…5mos5MO

People coming from civil war torn countries such as Sudan or Palastine need safe passage for their families to live.

 @B9N634Xagreed…5mos5MO

I would agree since not all refugees would understand the language or understand how the country's ways go. So instructions should be provided to help.

 @B9FFT9Cagreed…5mos5MO

A lot of refugees are coming from hostile countries, and have fought their way here, and fought to survive. The least we could do is help them when they arrive, instead of them being treated like criminals.

 @B8SQ3CRagreed…7mos7MO

Just look at how badly the NHS has suffered since Brexit causing the loss of so many foreign doctors.

 @B7VYJKBagreed…8mos8MO

It's the right thing to do. The UK, with its history, has a moral obligation to compensate for the damage inflicted on the rest of the world for generations. The least we can do is to provide safety to and a path towards peace for as many people as it can possibly do. Policies should be adjusted to meet that objective.

 @B7GHRKVagreed…9mos9MO

Countries who provide for the immigrants and promote immigration experience significant increase in economic productivity, such as Germany in the past decade.

 @B7DBDSSagreed…9mos9MO

The lack of Safe Routes has drastically increased small boat crossings.

In the year ending June 2025, over a third of asylum seekers arrived by small boat, a route that was rarely used before 2018.

 @B5S3Q78 agreed…1yr1Y

We should make the process easier because they are already in a difficult position therefore we need to help them come to our country which may help reduce the amount of illegal immigrants

 @9PM6MXVagreed…2yrs2Y

Providing a safe place for people to come, live and work seems morally responsible. Once asylum has been granted, refugees are able to work and contribute to society so it makes sense to make this process accessible.

 @9ND6M2JLiberal Democratdisagreed…2yrs2Y

Make the immigration process easier and fairer and faster. Allow genuine refugees who are fleeing persecution and war in and not economic refugees who have paid to get here.

 @9N39FZ6Greenagreed…2yrs2Y

Fundamentally this is an ethical position, but the current system doesn't seem to please anybody. Unless you believe in performative cruelty, a smoother process benefits both sides.

 @9MY65HWagreed…2yrs2Y

We are privileged to live in a country where we are not in danger of war or famine and should support those having worse times.

 @9LXWPVRagreed…2yrs2Y

The reason why you should believe this is because they have had really hard lives so far and we should give them a stable life style

 @9GBGD76agreed…3yrs3Y

The current system is literally legally inhumane.
The current detention centres for immigrants do not meet the standards legally required for UK prisons.
The lack of enrichment and sanitation in immigration detention centres could easily psychology bait an asylum applicant into rash actions. Rash actions that would qualify said asylum applicant for deportation. The current process is finding inhumane ways to avoid the granting of refuge.

 @B8Z3LCDagreed…6mos6MO

Asylum seeking is a long and draining process
If people are so desperate to leave their home countries by land, why should we deny them a chance of life
Deportation should only be considered in extremely rare cases
There is genuinely no way for some of these people to immigrate legally

 @9MSBK4Qagreed…2yrs2Y

Often the UK is responsible for hardships in other parts of the world (eg Afghanistan). The least we can do is be welcoming following terrible hardship for people in countries that have experienced war.

 @9F7CVRXdisagreed…3yrs3Y

Britian is running out of room to store people and we are focusing on refugees more than our own UK citizens

 @B28BP7T agreed…1yr1Y

Refugees are coming from an unstable situation to a stable nation like ours, why deny someone of safety you are so privileged to have?

 @9NKH6THLabouragreed…2yrs2Y

It can take a number of years for an asylum seeker to be granted asylum in this country, that's years that we are paying for their housing and their food and years they aren't contributing to this country. Many asylum seekers are highly skilled people who would be assets to this country once their applications have been processed.

 @BCT9HY8Green agreed…2mos2MO

Before we left the EU we didn't have this publicly advertised "problem with illegal immigrants". This is because we had legal routes for asylum seekers to go both to and from Europe depending on their application status.

Leaving the EU destroyed these deals, and now the right, uses them as a Scape goat. This issue of immigration is a beurocratic one that needs fixing by updating legislation to make it easier to streamline the asylum seeking process.

 @BCRTRQDfrom New York  agreed…2mos2MO

21% (or around 325,000) of NHS staff in England reported a non-British nationality. 36% of doctors and 30% of nurses being non-UK nationals (HoC Library). Demand for foreign engineers jumps 71 per cent in just one year (The Engineer). Non-British workers make up around 27% of the transportation sector workforce, involving logistics, public transport, and infrastructure (Remitly).

There are wars going on across the world & if people wish to reside in the UK to escape a war torn country they should be able to.

 @9MT2LGJ agreed…2yrs2Y

Legitimate refugees (which the vast majority are) are fleeing horrible circumstances which we can't even begin to imagine in our safe and privileged country. As a wealthier nation which in the past (and probably present) has contributed to a lot of the problems the nations from such refugees are fleeing face it is our duty to provide a safe haven for and welcome refugees to our country. In addition lot of these refugees have a lot to offer the country too in terms of skills etc

I'm sick of this George Soros Open Society **** e! The man confessed with his own tongue that he helped round up his fellow Jews during WWII. When asked if he regretted it he said, "No. If I didn't do it someone else would have." The only reason they allow immigrants in is to provide cheap labour for businesses! It's all a scam! Here's another thing! Women put off child rearing for their careers in the name of equality. Ok... so where do the future workers come from? Other countries where women have ZERO rights. We now OUTSOURCE for human beings. Just like we…  Read more
