Using the logic that only one gender adopting a child is wrong. Surely that means everyone against lgbtqia+ adoption rights should also be against single dads or mother or any other gender conforming person adopting as a single person? Also this ideology that its "all woke" and "only just been normalised" is completely wrong you can see lgbtqia+ adoptions and surrogacy in history for decades

LGBTQI+ persons have existed for thousands of years, as has been documented since human records began - there are even stone age era markings that depict this. The counter argument to this is based in homophobic ideology, and has no place in our society.
To adopt is a choice with great consequence, and is not taken lightly. Further, it is not an "ideology" - LGBTQI+ is backed in scientific fact, it quite simply is not a choice as this statement presents.
If anything, we should be looking to improve upon the rights of said persons, and actively encouraging LGBTQI+ persons to adopt. Love is love, and a child being welcomed into a family regardless of their sexuality should be celebrated.

LGBTQ people are not any different than heterosexual people and i don't see the point in discriminating against a same sex couple for the sheer idea of previous ideology. The DSM-II classified homosexuality as a mental disorder in 1968 and has since been adapted to fit accordingly. We cannot use past ideologies to permit our views towards whether or not a LGBTQ couple can adopt or not. The argument of needing both a mother and father figure is entirely null due to single parents who may not get the choice of giving their child a different sex parent. We adapt to our norms within our environment and whether we like it or not, LGBTQ is a norm within the western world in the modern day and should be treated as such, especially in basic rights to be a parent to a child who would thrive with at least one parental figure.
