I believe the concept of monarchy to be ridiculous, the very idea that a certain family can inherit all or (in the case of a constitutional monarchy) a large amount of power over people is a slap to democracy. I understand that, according to NatCen, 58% support retaining the Royal Family, but I believe age should be taken into consideration, especially when the BBC reported that 80% of people who favored the monarchy were over 65, because when you look back at the same NatCen article, you'll see that 59% of people aged between 16-34 were in favor of an elected head of state rather than a monarch.
I also believe that with millennial and gen z (which I'm apart of but I'll let you judge if I'm being a little bias), there seems to be more questioning the effectiveness of the Royal Family, along with them being quick to call out the monarchies role in Britain's colonial history and news like Prince Andrews association with Epstein, which has also brought questions of if the Royal Family knew about their friendship and (if they previously knew) how long they had known and kept it to themselves.
