Should gay couples have the same adoption rights as straight couples?
No, and I believe a mother and father family structure is best for the child
There are straight couples who may not provide a safe environment for children
Also members of the LGBT+ community are protected by the human rights act so therefore should be allowed the same rights to adopt as a straight couple. Finally the best family structure you can give a child is parents who are loving and supporting, and that should not be defined by gender or sexuality of the parent.

Gay couples not having the same adoption rights as straight couples is seeded in the archaic belief that homosexuality is deviant and on the same level as paedophilia. Disallowing homosexual couples from adopting is implying that their love is not as valid as a cis straight couple, simple as. At the moment it seems we would rather deny a child a loving family than come to terms with the fact that homosexual love is love. This is all rooted In religious dogma of books written in the 1500’s which many of our modern day laws unfortunately still revolve around.

Gay couples should have equal adoption rights as straight couples and need to have the same checks and system to ensure that the children are going to proper homes that can provide for them. Straight couples should not get an advantage or disadvantage when adopting and the system has to be fair and equal.
