I don't believe Britain's head of state should be decided by an accident of birth

I believe the head of state has to be accountable in a way that the monarch simply isn't. Any of the arguments in favour of the royal family, many of which I don't really believe anyway, are not worth having an unelected, unaccountable, born to rule head of state.
