The class often works at the pace of the slowest we should the smartest people be held back, we have no problem splitting university’s. There’s schools for brilliant athletes, actors and musicians, why not academics

It doesn’t allow different flowers to sprout , you wouldn’t put a daffodil in a potato bed . Different people need different environments to succeed

Comprehensive schools allow children to meet their potential and develop at their own rate and ensure equal resources and opportunities.

Children who are more academically able should be grouped together in school in order to reach their potential more easily. Mixing with much lower performing groups of children at shcool both inhibits their opportunites and has a negative influence on behaviour and aspirations. There is a real tendancy in state schools for teachers to pander to the lowest performing thrid of the year and meeting government pass rates for GCSE in Maths, English and Science becomes their priorty over and above ensuring the more able pupils reach their full potenital which isn't fair.

Children can have learning tailored to them much better if children who learn at quicker rates are separated.
