No, I believe there will always be tensions across the world. However I want it to be obsolete.

 @9HLYNB7answered…1yr1Y

No. I think major societal change is required. We'd be dead before war becomes obsolete, before the required changes happen. People are too greedy, corrupt and power hungry.

 @9HS2NXNanswered…1yr1Y

I think it’s too late. So long as there are weapons and unhinged people who seek power, war will happen.

 @9JRXBZ6Liberal Democratanswered…1yr1Y

i think it is a nice thought but there will always be people that are money and land hungry

 @9JSTVJSGreendisagreed…1yr1Y

Greed is natural but it is not inevitable. With proper education, support and respect I believe it is possible for us to evolve as a society past the need for conflict. We don't have any enemies, no one does. It's an idea made up in our heads.

 @9J29FC8Conservativeanswered…1yr1Y

Humans will never reach a state where war is obsolete. Our negative emotions towards each other, although terrible, are necessary in order for a society to flourish. We could not possibly live in a perfectly harmonised society (in infinite time) as we are not perfectly harmonised with each other.

 @9J5PHWZdisagreed…1yr1Y

War doesn’t improve people’s lives, it traumatises them and it takes innocent people away from their family.

 @9JXSSB2answered…1yr1Y

No, and with increasing religious zealotry in all major world religions it can only get worse.

 @9JZLSZJdisagreed…1yr1Y

The assertion that 'zealotry' is increasing amongst all religions is unfounded. Furthermore, even if it was, general trends in the current do not mean it will forever be more zealous.

 @9JTJBQ2answered…1yr1Y

no as the definition of war is so broad and with free speech and contrasting opinions people are bound to disagree and create conflict and it is up to everyone to reduce how that escalates.

 @9JXN8RBdisagreed…1yr1Y

Peace will always be temporary. We fight to survive, so when people are convinced their existence is threatened, they fight.

 @9JXJ5QSanswered…1yr1Y

Obviously not,
people will always disagree and will always be willing to use force to take what they want

violence makes the world go round

 @9JXZVD6agreed…1yr1Y

Meaningful war will devolve to a point where scorched earth is all that is left, having a war becomes essentially pointless, you don't "win" anything and everyone losses everything.
At this point, war is obsolete because engaging in it would be catastrophically bad.

 @9HM7GC8answered…1yr1Y

No, unfortunately humans will always disagree, especially in the form of governments.

 @9JZMVD3answered…1yr1Y

I hope so. I don’t think that can happen until there are kinder people in positions of power, with liberating hearts, who actually want to help people who are not in positions of power; But are still affected by those decisions made by people in positions of power. Until there is no more patriarchy; There will always be war. No one can say they understand love if they cannot understand that every person is deserving of safety, freedom of expression, clothes on their back, education, community, food, water, life and love; That does not exploit them, or anyone else.

 @9K2PJNNanswered…1yr1Y

Yes, we're there. War is pointless. all it does is further divide us and puts money in the pockets of the people who make the weapons.

 @9JXPYYYanswered…1yr1Y

No, those that seek power will often want more power and use people’s lives to attain it.

"And He shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more." Isaiah 2:4

 @9JRXC4Ganswered…1yr1Y

No, was is an inherent part of the human race. See Chimpanzee War, war is an evolutionary characteristic.

 @9J6K4W5answered…1yr1Y

No, I don’t think humanity will reach being obsolete. Without Jesus Christ at the fore front of everyone’s mind, there isn’t a lot of hope.

 @9K598WXanswered…1yr1Y

No. As long as there is something to be gained through war, there will be war. Pacifism begets violence.

 @9K4HYBDanswered…1yr1Y

No. Humans seem to always forget the horrors of war, such ans WW2 and there will always be people in power who are greedy, self serving and power hungry.

 @9JYT2R8answered…1yr1Y

Never. Human nature will always spark competition, hatred and racism. Every human wants to feel superior, and that normally comes out as racism.

 @9J2KGMXConservativeanswered…1yr1Y

Unfortunately no, but we should continue to work towards a time where there is no war, no violence.

 @9HK7M5Qanswered…1yr1Y

no, no matter how hard we try, there will always be a level of war and peace will only be achieved truly when a bigger power then all of us comes onto the world stage.

 @9K7RVMNanswered…1yr1Y

Potentially, if a particular German philosopher is to be believed, then war has always been a result of material deficit or for material acquisition - as long as people are disunited and have the capacity for an 'us vs them' mindset while also existing in an economic system that necessitates the acquisition of goods from a third party, then war is inevitable. Provided there was a global political consensus and peace and an economic system that fulfilled all material needs on both a personal and international scale, then war would be pointless and anomalous, likely between rebelling extremists and radicals. However, we are far from such a system, and as such there are multiple intersecting conditions seemingly ever present that perpetuate conflicts globally.

 @9K5GJ6Sanswered…1yr1Y

Sadly not, there i always someone with a modicum of power that looks for more.

 @9JM7CH4Labour answered…1yr1Y

No, I believe that politicians will always be power-hungry and selfish enough to start wars, and this has been the case for millennia.

Not unless we become a transhumanist species with brain implants to soften such tendencies.
